How rollover is calculated

There are two common formulas. Some books apply the multiplier to the bonus only: a 5x rollover on a $500 bonus is $2,500 in bets. Others apply it to deposit plus bonus: deposit $500, receive $500, and a 5x rollover becomes $5,000 in bets.

Always read which base the operator uses. The same headline multiplier can mean double the work depending on the formula.

Minimum odds rules

Nearly every sportsbook sets a minimum price for a bet to count. -200 (1.50 decimal) is the most common threshold. Betting heavy favourites at -400 will not reduce your rollover balance at most books, even though the bet is settled normally.

Then factor in the hold. If you bet -110 lines, the house edge over $7,500 of action is meaningful, and a high-rollover bonus can be negative expected value even if you never lose a bet outright.

Common rollover mistakes

Requesting a withdrawal before rollover clears usually forfeits the bonus and any winnings derived from it. Check your bonus balance in the cashier before cashing out.

Mixing sportsbook and casino play can also break rollover terms, because casino wagers often count at a different rate — or not at all.
